Plan International UK is recruiting for an expert in Cash and Emergencies to cover the maternity leave of a member of the Disaster Risk Management (DRMU) team.

Plan International UK is a global children’s charity with over 80 years’ experience of working to deliver and protect girls’ rights across the world and to address gender inequality: we are the global experts on girls’ rights.

The Disaster Risk Management Unit (DRMU) works across the whole spectrum of disaster work from risk reduction through to recovery, working in collaboration with many of the major NGOs in consortia and as a DEC and START Network member.

In this role, you will support the scale up of our emergency work in some of the most vulnerable and fragile contexts and will make a major contribution to realising the team’s growth ambitions through enhanced cash programming. You will provide technical advice in designing, implementing and monitoring cash and market-based programmes in emergencies, addressing the specific needs of young/ adolescent girls and young women.

You will have field experience in designing and implementing cash projects and programmes including a focus on safe programming or gender, and market-based programming. You will also have significant experience in vulnerability analysis and tackling inequality and exclusion, and of securing institutional funding and overseeing projects from major humanitarian donors.

This is a maternity cover role that we anticipate will be needed for up to 12 months.
